GMO Companies Exposed for Using Scientists and Professors as Secret Front Groups

The US Right to Know organization has went public with a collection of emails unveiling how corrupt Monsanto and various research scientists are.

The emails show how Monsanto uses "independent" third-party scientists and professors to deliver their messages to the public.

The U.S. Right to Know group has filed state freedom of information act requests to obtain the emails and documents of 43 public university faculty who are secretly associated with Monsanto.  They have received nine so far.

To learn more about how Monsanto uses professors and scientists to spread their message that GMOs are the greatest thing since sliced bread go to  U.S. Right to Know.

Monsanto's Stock Taking A Dive

Yipee, finally the news is getting out to Monsanto's stockholders that the world does not trust Monsanto and does not want their food. It is finally effecting their stocks. You can read more about it HERE.

It shows us that our constant persistence can pay off! Keep educating everyone and keep telling your stores you want non-GMO choices. The more people that refuse to buy their so called food, the less money Monsanto has and eventually they change or collapse. They already see the writing on the wall. I know a farmer in Oregon who says he supplies them with large amounts of organic certified corn seed. I have wondered over the last few years what they are up to purchasing the seed. I think perhaps they want a back-up plan for if and when they can't sell GMOs any more. It goes to show they are not so confident. Perhaps they are just trying to ride the tide as far as they can before it crashes. Then their back up plan is probably to sell "organic" which most folks will have had to change over to trying to escape the GM food. Little do they know that I don't plan to purchase either from them. Not just because I don't trust their "organic" food. I don't plan to give them one penny to come up with new ways to try to take over our food supply. There is nothing they could do that would gain my trust.

Stop Monsanto from Putting a Rider on the Ag Bill

I am too busy on my farm to write much this time of year, BUT I can't ignore this: Monsanto has convinced congress to add a rider to the 2013 Agriculture Appropriations bill that would end judicial review of approvals of new genetically engineered crops.

If this rider (Sec. 733) isn't removed, organic and non-GMO farmers will lose their access to the court system and they'll have no recourse when the U.S. Department of Agriculture illegally approves new genetically engineered crops that threaten to contaminate their fields and seed supplies.

Monsanto's sneak attack is a response to successful lawsuits brought by the Center for Food Safety on behalf of organic and non-GMO farmers and seed growers that have attempted to block planting of genetically engineered sugar beets and alfalfa while the USDA conducted a court-ordered review of the dangers of contamination.

A vote on an amendment offered by Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-OR) to strike Monsanto's rider from the appropriations bill was expected this week, but will likely be delayed until after the July 4th recess. Let's use this time to spread the word and send tens of thousands of letters to Congress!

Help Defeat Monsanto

Monsanto has been threatening every state that even considers passing a GMO labeling law with a lawsuit. This seems to be working for them as most of our representatives and Governors are backing down when threatened. Thankfully some states have a voter initiative process that allows them to vote on laws by getting enough signatures to add the bill to the ballot for public approval. California has produced the required signatures and a GMO labeling bill will be on the ballot for the public to vote on. However, Monsanto is going to try to defeat it by massive negative advertising campaign to attempt to scare the public. We have to be able to fight back and that takes people and  money.
Many groups. Reaching out to millions of people. To raise millions of dollars. To take back our food supply.
This battle in California - initiated and powered by the 99% - will largely determine the future of what we eat and what we grow. Once we force GMO labeling in California - the eighth largest economy in the world - consumers will stop buying foods containing GMOs. Food manufacturers will be forced to stop contaminating our food with GMOs.

It happened in Europe. It can happen here.
Mercola.com, the largest alternative health website in the world, along with a group of leading organic companies including Nature's Path, Lundberg Family Farms, and Eden Foods,    pledged another one million dollars to the campaign - but only if the campaign reaches the goal of $1 million by May 26.

Please help them raise $1 million by May 26 for the California Right to Know GMO Labeling Campaign so they don't miss out on this $1 million matching gift! You can donate online, by phone, or by mail.
Please donate today - online, by phone, or drop a check in the mail. Every dollar you contribute will go directly into the California Right to Know ballot initiative and other state GMO labeling campaigns, including a legal defense fund to defend states that pass GMO labeling laws from Monsanto lawsuits.

Monsanto Genetically Engineering Bees

After being blamed by massive amounts of bee keepers for the Honey Bee collapse, Monsanto purchased the largest bee research firm called Beeologics back in September of 2011.

Their website says:
"Beeologics LLC is an international firm dedicated to restoring bee health and protecting the future of insect pollination. While its primary goal is to control the Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) and Israeli Acute Paralysis Virus (IAPV) infection crises, Beeologics' mission is to become the guardian of bee health worldwide. Through continuous research, scientific innovation, and a focus on applicable solutions, Beeologics is developing a line of RNAi-based products to specifically address the long-term well being of the bees. "

In case you don't know RNAi-based products are a mechanism meant to block gene expression. RNAi-based products are genetically engineered products that Monsanto is now planning to use on the honey bees! The same bees who's health, (many beekeepers believe) has already been compromised by Monsanto's genetically engineered plants that produce pesticides. Their answer to this problem should be to stop making GM food, but instead it is to make more genetically engineered products that they will unleash on our planet without research to show any of them are safe.

RNAi (ribonucleic acid interference) is a process within living cells that moderates the activity of genes. It has been known by other names, including co-suppression, post transcriptional gene silencing and quelling. They all described the RNAi phenomenon. RNAs (ribonucleic acid) are the direct products of genes, and these small RNAs can bind to other specific messanger RNA (mRNA) molecules and either increase or decrease their activity, for example by preventing an mRNA from producing a protein. RNA interference has an important role in defending cells against parasitic genes - viruses and transposons,  but also in directing development as well as gene expression in general.

Monsanto In Route to Control Seeds & Pollination
Monsanto is already on its way to owning most of the seeds on the planet. They are replacing the natural spirit made food with Monsanto made frankenfood. They now also want to own the means of pollinating the food. Their frankenfoods that produce pesticides are believed by beekeepers to be killing the honey bees. Monsanto's solution to the colony collapse disorder is to replace God's honeybees with Monsanto's genetically modified bees that are resistant to all the pesticide producing food they make.

Just as their GM seed has trespassed onto organic/conventional farmers fields by pollinators bringing pollen from one field to another, these frankenbees will also get out into the world and end up contaminating the native bees. When this happens Monsanto will probably sue any bee keeper who has bees that show similar genetics to their patented bees. Beekeepers could be forced to buy Monsanto bees when all bees are contaminated and changed into frankenbees.

Then there is you and I. Are we destined to be frankenpeople? Are we already contaminated? I eat only organic food in hope to not be contaminated by their products. We all need to do this to stop them. Do not buy anything but organic food or at least buy local from farmers you know who do no not sell genetically modified food. Do not buy non-organic corn, soybeans, cotton, canola and sugar beets - this means sugar as they are almost all GMO. Read labels. It is my opinion that the problems with human fertility, increased gastrointestinal problems and many other human diseases that have increased in the recent past may be linked to genetically engineered food. The research with animals certainly supports it. If nothing else, don't you wonder why so many more people have food allergies nowadays?

We must talk to our representatives and tell them we want labeling of GM food immediately if not outright banning of it until it has more research. So far the research is frightening. Since it is so hard to work on a federal level, get your state or even your local county to ban the growing of GM food in the county. If Monsanto claims they will sue your state or county for banning them (as they have been doing), tell your officials you will stand behind them. Don't let your officials be bullied by Monsanto.

Why do 40 other countries ban GM food outright or have laws regulating GM food when the United States won't even label it? It is up to us as citizens to get this changed.

Without the labeling, the only way for you to be safe is to eat organic food you grow or you get from reputable farmers/groceries. Additionally, this way you make sure you are not funding the further expansion of Monsanto, Bayer or Syngeta.(All part of the GM food chain.)

For more information on the research go to Jeffrey Smith's site here.

Monsanto Facing Biopiracy Charges in India

According to an article published this month in the journal Nature Biotechnology, Monsanto is facing biopiracy charges in India.

In an unprecedented decision, India’s National Biodiversity Authority(NBA), a government agency, declared legal action against Monsanto (and their collaborators) for accessing and using local eggplant varieties (known as brinjal) to develop their Bt genetically engineered version1 without prior approval of the competent authorities, which is considered an act of “biopiracy.”

The journal of Nature Biotechnology reported:
“An Indian government agency has agreed to sue the developers of genetically modified (GM) eggplant for violating India’s Biological Diversity Act of 2002. India’s National Biodiversity Authority (NBA) is alleging that the developers of India’s first GM food crop–Jalna-based Maharashtra Hybrid Seeds Company (Mahyco) partnered with St. Louis–based seed giant Monsanto and several local universities–used local varieties to develop the transgenic crop, but failed to gain the appropriate licenses for field trials. At the same time, activists in Europe are claiming that patents on conventionally bred plants, including a melon found in India, filed by biotech companies violate farmers’ rights to use naturally occurring breeds. Both these pending legal cases could set important precedents for biopiracy in India and Europe.”
